Our Method :
Here at PianolessonsNJ.com we believe in and teach Sight Reading
(the ability to play any song of your choice by simply reading the
music in front of you), as opposed to Rote teaching
(learning a particular song through endless repetition, and not
being able to play much else.) Most piano methods use rote, which
is unfortunate because this does not create a musician. This is the
reason why you, or someone you know may have taken piano lessons in
the past, but can't play today. They were taught by rote.
When you are taught to sight read, you will be able to play any song
you like, and you will keep this ability the
rest of your life! We just don't want to give you a fish so
you can eat today. We want to teach you to fish so you can
eat the rest of your life. We teach you how to be a
musician.....not just someone that knows how to play a few songs.
